Scope of Work

Interpeace, a Swiss non-profit organisation, works in close partnership with national partner organizations and the UN, with the aim of building lasting peace. The Côte d’Ivoire Programme Officer (PO) is a member of the Programme Team in the Regional Office for West Africa. In this context, the PO will collaborate directly with the Regional Director (RD), the Innovation and Learning Officer (ILO) and the rest of the Interpeace Regional Office Team. S/he will report to the Regional Director (RD) who will provide overall guidance of the programme. Overall, a strong collaborative and horizontal approach to programme delivery and reporting will be maintained.

The UNDP/GEF Project: Strengthening human resources, legal frameworks, and institutional capacities to implement the Nagoya Protocol (GEF ID 5731; 2016-2019), is a 3-year project that specifically aims at assisting countries in the development and strengthening of their national ABS frameworks, human resources, and administrative capabilities to implement the Nagoya Protocol in order to unleash a wide range of monetary and non-monetary benefits for providers of genetic resources. The project seeks to achieve this by a) strengthening the legal, policy and institutional capacity to develop national ABS frameworks; b) building trust between users and providers of genetic resources to facilitate the identification of bio-discovery efforts; and c) Strengthening the capacity of indigenous and local communities to contribute to the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol.

Program Development Specialist – Senior Reproductive Health Manager

The Senior Family Planning/Reproductive Health (FP/RH) Program Management Specialist serves as the principal advisor to USAID/Nigeria in family planning and reproductive health and as a senior member of the Health Population and Nutrition (HPN) Office. The incumbent provides overall technical guidance for developing FP/RH strategies and policies that supports USAID and Government of Nigeria development targets.

Applicant should possess:

  • Advanced health related degree (MD, RN, PhD, MPH)
  • 7-10 year progressively responsible, professional–level experience in public health and health delivery with emphasis on RH; clinical skills and experience is required. Experience working in Nigeria’s northern states on health-related activities strongly desired.
  • AOR Training and Programming Assistance.
  • High proficiency in verbal and written expression of English is required; knowledge of Hausa is desirable.
  • Familiarity with the broad range of FP/RH issues that affects Nigeria and/or developing countries in general.
  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the major issues affecting FP/RH in all geographical regions of Nigeria, with in-depth knowledge of the implementation of FP/RH programs in Nigeria’s northern states.
  • Demonstrated understanding of programs and organizational aspect of major international donors, organizations, foundations and private sector organization that supports Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health.
